Shadow Brokers Reveal Monthly Dump Service
Earlier this month, Shadow Brokers announced their plans to release monthly dump services for a subscription fee. At the same time, they promised they would release the following types of data and tools:
- web browser exploits
- router exploits
- mobile handset exploits and tools
- items from newer Ops Disks
- exploits for Windows 10
- compromised network data from more SWIFT providers and central banks
- compromised network data from Russian, Chinese, Iranian, or North Korean nukes and missile programs
The Shadow Brokers group recently posted a message on how this monthly service will actually work, highlighting a switch from Bitcoin to Zcash, a cryptocurrency that is more private and almost impossible to track. The group requests $22,000 a month from each subscriber, which is 100 Zcash.
Recommendations:
- Apply security patches as soon as they’re released
