About the Role

At Smarttech247 our customers are central to our mission and values. We have a great opportunity for a Lead (TypeScript) Developer to join us in a central role to drive continued growth of our in-house products. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering and will work alongside a growing team of developers in R & D. 

This is a hybrid role with expectations to work on site 2-3 days per week. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Architect and create highly resilient, well tested, high performing backends. 

Provide technical leadership and guide other developers on their learning adventure. 

Provide clear and actionable insights to business stakeholders. 

Bring your ideas! Champion good software development practices, such as code review sessions, style checks, linting, etc. 

 

Must haves:  

A solid understanding of JavaScript and JavaScript event loop. Experience building backends using MicroService based architecture. 

Extensive experience in JavaScript development (6+ years, of which 2 should be in TypeScript) and RESTful Web services. 

Deep knowledge of Typescript (we use 4.X). 

Passion for learning and confidence to work outside comfort zone and learned new things. 

Self-starter, able to work independently on complex challenges. 

Experience with typical TS tooling (ESLint, TSLint, Prettier, VSCode, Jest/Mocha, etc.) 

 

 

Bonus Points (but not required): 

Full-stack experience, ideally with React or Angular.  

Nice to have, prior experience with Elastic Search and Kibana.  

Prior experience with public Cloud Services (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud). 

Nice to have, prior experience with integration Testing libraries (TestCafe or similar).
