Location: Preferably Cork, Ireland with 3 days a week onsite (Remote across Ireland considered, monthly Cork office visit required)
Seniority: Mid-level
Reporting to: Marketing Manager
Employment Type: Full-time
About This Role
We’re looking for a Senior SEO Executive to own and lead our SEO strategy as part of a growing marketing team in a fast-moving cybersecurity business. This is a mid-level role for someone with solid experience who’s ready to take charge of organic visibility, influence multiple teams and get hands-on with strategy and execution.
You’ll be the go-to person for everything from technical SEO and on-page optimisation to topic clustering, internal linking and AI-aware search trends. Your primary mandate is to grow and protect our organic search visibility.
You won’t be doing this in a vacuum. You’ll collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager, UX lead, developers and content team. This is a rare opportunity to own an entire function and shape how search is integrated into the company’s next growth chapter.
Responsibilities:
- Own the company’s organic search visibility as a strategic priority.
- Lead the development and execution of our SEO strategy across on-page, technical and off-page areas.
- Conduct regular SEO audits and identify technical issues, overseeing fixes with support from developers.
- Plan and manage internal linking strategy to support content discoverability and authority flow.
- Optimise site architecture in collaboration with the marketing manager and UX lead, guided by SEO best practices.
- Provide SEO input into UX decisions (mobile-first design, structure, accessibility) without owning UX delivery.
- Lead keyword research, topic clustering and competitor analysis to uncover opportunities.
- Create detailed SEO content briefs for writers including keyword targets, page structure, meta descriptions, alt text and internal link recommendations.
- Recommend and implement structured data, schema markup and metadata
- Manage sitemap creation, submission and URL redirects.
- Own the full off-page SEO strategy including backlink acquisition, digital PR and disavowing toxic backlinks.
- Stay up to speed on evolving AI-driven search trends, with support for training and development in this area.
- Track SEO performance using SEMrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, GA4 and Looker Studio.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual SEO reports and contribute to weekly marketing performance updates.
- Maintain clear documentation of SEO processes, guidelines and playbooks.
What We’re Looking For
- 3 to 4+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in a B2B, tech or agency environment.
- Proven ability to drive organic traffic growth and search visibility through structured execution.
- Expertise in on-page SEO including keyword research, metadata, internal linking and schema markup.
- Experience with topic cluster strategy and content briefing.
- Ability to identify and oversee fixes for technical SEO issues (executing fixes yourself is a bonus).
- Comfortable managing redirects, sitemap maintenance and structured data implementation.
- Strong understanding of SEO’s intersection with UX and content architecture.
- Familiarity with AI’s impact on search and an appetite to keep learning as it evolves.
- Proficiency with SEMrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, GA4 and Looker Studio.
- Clear communicator, sharp analyst and collaborative partner across marketing, content, UX and dev teams.
Nice to Have (Brownie Points For…)
These aren’t must-haves, but they’ll help you stand out:
- A working knowledge of HTML, CSS or JavaScript.
- Experience using Hotjar to gain insights into user behaviour and on-site optimisation.
- Familiarity with HubSpot CMS, especially for managing blog or case study content.
- The ability to execute basic technical SEO fixes yourself.
- An active interest in how AI is reshaping search and a willingness to experiment with emerging tools.
Location & Flexibility
We strongly prefer candidates based in Cork who can be onsite at least three days a week. However, we’re open to considering experienced candidates based elsewhere in Ireland on a remote basis, provided they can join us in the Cork office at least once a month for in-person collaboration.
