If you have Adobe Flash player installed and you have not updated it yet, you are at high risk. Recently, Adobe has released a major patch update for Flash Player which aims at resolving a massive number of holes: 52! Adobe has also released an update for Adobe Reader.

The most important thing you have to do is PATCH. Today. You can find the most recent versions of Adobe Flash Player  on  the Flash home page. If you are using Internet Explorer and alternative browsers (Chrome, Firefox etc.) you may need you update twice.

The same goes for Adobe Reader. It must be updated immediately as Adobe has released an update that addresses more than 30 security holes in Adobe reader.

Adobe is not the only one

Microsoft has released 11 patches this month and 6 of them are extremely important. Not patching can lead to serious vulnerabilities allowing remote code execution. These vulnerabilities can allow an attacker execute malicious code and takeover an affected system. The attacker will have all the same privileges as the user running of the affected system. With remote code execution vulnerabilities, the hacker will attempt to navigate their way around the network and elevate their privileges.

The patches released by Microsoft aim at resolving security holes within their own Web browsers (Internet Explorer found to have 15 vulnerabilities and Edge presents 13 Flaws). Microsoft Office also presents high risks as hackers can exploits through malicious Office documents.

This goes without saying. The best way to protect a business from serious vulnerabilities is to ensure there is a solid patching strategy in place and fixing these issues will help to stop the attackers gaining access.
